Thank-you Mr. Deer
Sunday, November 9th, 2008Check this beauty out -
As most of you know I was gone this weekend hunting mule deer near Diefenbaker Lake. The deer numbers are down from what we expected and we had to work to find them, but the hunt was a success and a lot of fun. I went with my father and unfortunately he came home empty handed. We were quite picky on the first day and became increasingly desperate on the last, but things did not go well as the deer became more and more elusive throughout the weekend. I must thank my dad though for allowing me first shot at the deer above as he had an opportunity to tag him but gave me first shot - thanks dad. I think he might second guess such thinking in the future.
Overall the weekend was a blast and we got lots of walking through the beautiful scenery;
Tonnes of rolling hills and buck brush - all kinds of good stuff for deer to hide in.
Also I wanted to thank Ian and Dale for covering my shifts the last couple of days without them I would have had to miss this hunt. So thanks a bunch for the hard work guys -greatly appreciated.
