I was killing this until about round 3 or 4 and then my hand started to be consummed by excrutiating (??) pain. It was sort of my right wrist but more so my right thumb. It was still sore and tired from the day before but at one point I couldn't even hold up the bar in round 4 and dumped it on a single rep that I couldn't complete. It sucked because I was killing the WOD and then round 4 squats took probably 8min alone. That sucked. By the end my thumb was totally numb which hasn't happened in a while. I thought it was only my thumb until I got home and took a shower and realised it was my entire right arm. You would think that one would notice a numb arm but it took water hitting it for me to realise. It was super weird. The stupid thing stayed numb for a large portion of the day and even today still felt a little odd in the shower.

The cleans were tough. My legs were sore and I was really focusing on getting the deadlift every time and not squating into each clean. I think that slowed me down a little but with the last round where I just flew through and my technique was crap I realised that I was really glad that I focused more on technique for the entire thing.


And I mostly got my muscle up back. I got up and over but didn't fully complete the dip because (a) I was scared of hitting my head on the bar and (b) because my arms were too damn tired :)

I would have liked to have finished it but it wasn't really do able in the situation and it was probably a good thing for my hands that I didn't do another 60 pull ups. I did get on little sort-of rip and a blood blister under another blister. Awesome (said with sarcasm). The second 800m run was the worst and I contemplated stopping and walking so I was really proud of myself that I didn't. After that the running wasn't too bad. I stuggled a bit more with pull ups today than I usually do but that was largely because my hands still aren't fully healed.

It has now been three hours since the WOD and I am starting to stiffen up BIG TIME!

I think maybe if I would have had a better idea of what weight I wanted to use then I may have been able to do a tiny bit more but by the time I was into my working sets I was already getting tired. My wrists hurt like a bugger and I kept forgetting to blink during the sets so when I was done the 5 reps I would thrown own the bar, keel over in wrist pain and be kind of blind. Not too good for survival.
