CFS WOD 100210

10 95/135# Deadlift
10 push-ups
10 rounds

For those lifting int he meet on Saturday you may focus on the snatch tomorrow to brush up on technique as well as start to figure out what lifts you plan on completing at the meet.

For the olympic lifting meet on Saturday here is a little info;

The meet will begin with a weigh-in @ 12pm at CFS and then the lifting will begin at 1:30pm.  I do not know the exact structure of the competition (will get more info soon) so when everyone will lift is somewhat up int eh air right now as the SWA will need to know how many people are attending and how many lifters there are in each weight class.  i have placed registration forms at the front door, which need to be filled out.  The registration form is for a SWA membership ($25) which is needed to compete.  There will also be a $10 entry fee on top of the membership fee, remember that the membership fee is good for a year and will allow you to lift again this year.

Clothing - lifters must wear shorts and a t-shirt, nothing too loose or baggy.  You must have an open knee so no pants will be allowed.

This all may sound as if the meet is getting more serious, but it really is a fun competition to try out your skills and experience something new.

So far we have , Jams, Matt, Claire, Lily, Brooke, Laurie, Ursula, Keith, C-Party (hopefully), Stoughton, Val, Dale H and a few others signing up to give this meet a try.  Lets see how many more we can get out to the meet - this will be a fun day and one that you truly will not regret.

Be sure to ask me for more info if you need.

    10 95/135# Deadlift
    10 push-ups
    10 rounds
    - time = 11:42

I enjoyed this workout, of course the push-ups were the weakest link. and i started breaking them up in the 4th or 5th round (8/2, then 5/5, then 5/3,/2)

Team 6 looked like they were rockin’ the DLs and push-ups. nice work!

Had a good time working on snatches this morning.
Burg w/u (PVC and 22# bar)
    Snatch drop-outs w/ 22#

    Snatch
    2 x 45 / 55 / 65
    1 x 75 / F x 85 / F x 75 (wasn’t finishing)
    1 x 75 / 75 / 80
    F x 85 / F x 85 (good pulls, but wasn’t strong enough receiving)
    1 x 85

happy to match my previous 1RM and super excited about getting to play this saturday!

David and I went in at noon to work on our snatches and it was great! Thanks for all your help Chad. I now have a better understanding of the fundamentals of snatching and it made a big difference :)

We’ll be spectators, not competitors this weekend. Good luck and congratulations to everyone competing.

I totally under estimated today’s workout…won’t make that mistake again!
Scaled down, but still thought we had to do 10 rounds…guess it was only 8.

    8 85# Deadlift
    8 push-ups
    10 rounds
Time = 10:15ish….but the last few rounds were horrible pushups and broken. Pushups are not my strong point - but something to work on :)

Sorry Claire, I didn’t make it to the gym today. I went home from work sick today. Hopefully I’m feeling better tomorrow…

Again I’m so sad that I can’t lift this weekend. I committed to playing in a 2 day volleyball tourne already and can’t pull out. I’m hoping I can come watch and help out between games. I really want to see everyone lift and cheer you guys on. I’m so excited to see so many people competing! It’s fabulous! I’ve been trying for years to convince people that olympic weightlifting is wicked awsome….

Good luck Saturday everyone! You all rock! I’m so proud of everyone!

    10 Deadlift @ 135#
    10 push ups
    10 Rounds
    = 8:01
I didn’t break any of my deadlift sets, but on the seventh round my push ups began to deteriorate. Overall I’m happy with the WOD today because 10 rounds was a grind

  8. Jennifer Says:

    10 Deadlift @ 95#
10 Push ups - did 5 regular and 5 knee for 4 rounds, but then had to do just knee push ups for the last 6 rounds!
    10 rounds for time = 12:24

Im happy that I finished with the required workout today, but wish I could have done it a bit faster! But the last 3 rounds were pretty hard to do! So thanks everyone for helping me get through the last ones by counting down for me!! :)

  9. Farrah Says:

    10 95# deadlifts
    10 Pushups
    10 rounds
    8:02
The deadlifts were awesome and all unbroken except for a short pause on the 8th rep of the last round. Push-ups were not nearly as good. I did full pushups for five rounds then switched to negatives but I think I should have held out on switching for a couple more rounds since I finished pretty quick.

  10. VP Says:

    10 72#/34KG one-armed KB deadlifts
    10 one-arm Pushups on bar
    10 rounds
    8:19
This was fun doing the one arm version. Prob could have went to the heaviest KB but grip became a problem at the 72#. Used 4th rung bar for PUs and prob could have put down to 3rd for a harder workout. All in all was happy with it.

Good job on the strong finish Phil!

Great job on your first one armed WOD Val!
